Importing AVI Into Adobe Premiere Pro

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

I’ve been trying to import the avi files from my Canon A630 Powershot into Adobe Premiere Pro, but kept getting Compression not supported errors. I did a search and found this codec: m3jpegv3.exe
After I installed it I was able to import the avi without a problem. I’m running Windows Vista on my machine by the way.

i think the site I got from charges, but they have a trial period…the funny thing is, after I installed it a Trial Period has Expired window popped up, I clicked ok and it kept working…so I’m not sure what it means…but anyway…it works!

Update: The codec cost $20 which isn’t bad. I ussed my Visa and I had to sign up with Verified by Visa which is free…it raised a red flag when I saw that though. you’ll then get your key to enter in the codec.
If you don’t register after installing, it seems to disable the videos…by that I mean, you can hear them but can’t see them. There may be a free version out there some where, but this one works and was only $20, so I’m happy.

You can do a search for that file or get it from this site: http://www.morgan-multimedia.com

Removing eBay Browser Highlighter From Firefox

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

I installed Skype on my machine and it also installed the friggin browser Highlighter extension in Firefox…when you open the extension manager it’s grayed out because the pricks don’t want you to remove it.

First I uninstalled Skype and restarted my machine, but that didn’t work.
Then I closed Firefox, went to Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/Extensions and deleted the browser highlighter folder and restarted Firefox…it was then gone, but I’m sure it left some junk on my machine…I’ll have to do a search and remove any other crap.

I think when I installed Skype, I wasn’t paying attention and just kept clicking next…I do believe it asked but it was too late…there was no back button.

I just reinstalled Skype and after you click the first “next” button, the Browser Highlighter screen appears…make sure you un-check the box if you don’t want that crap installed on your machine when installing Skype!

I just had a similar problem with another program installing crap on my machine without asking…this one was worse, you can read about it here: Removing Bing Toolbar.

Importing Outlook pst on Windows Vista

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

First in the words of Mr garrison from South Park: “Jesus tap dancing Christ!”
What a pain in the ass to try and get your contacts from Outlook into Windows Mail, which now comes with Vista…no more Outlook Express.

Luckily when my machine crashed a few weeks ago, I was able to get all the files I needed of of the old hard drives…so I had my pst file from Outlook. No problem, I’ll just import into my laptop which was running XP Pro…then BAM, I got a friggin virus…not a real bad one…actually Norton had caught some adware and removed them and I had to reboot to complete the process…

After I rebooted, I couldn’t get back online…so after I paid Geek Squad $70 to tell me that I needed to do a recovery, I brought the laptop home and popped in the recovery discs that came with my new XP Pro running laptop…but wait, why do the discs say Vista recovery discs…must be a misprint…WRONG!!!

Now the laptop that I bought because it had XP Pro was now a Vista laptop…I’ve heard so much crap about Vista that I started to fume and yell at my cats…they looked at me like, “WTF’s your problem”…anyway…Vista really isn’t that bad, I think people hate it so much because Microsoft in their ongoing love affair with money and the constant need to screw people completely changed windows…things were moved, renamed and deleted…like when you want to open the Run dialogue box from the start menu, it’s gone…but you can right click on the start button and change back to the “Classic” version or you can just hit the windows button and R at the same top and it will open up.

Backing up a bit…after I dropped my laptop off, my phone fell out of my pocket as I was getting in my car and went right between the door and the car…I cracked the screen, so I couldn’t see anything. I figured, i’d get my new phone and just sync it with Windows mail…can’t do it. I installed a trial version of Outlook hoping that would work so I could then get the addresses back on my phone…no dice, and with the trial version of Outlook you can’t import of export files…fucking greedy pricks at Microsoft just want your money!

There’s more than one way to skin a cat…I had the pst file from my old computer, so after I installed the trial version, I went to the directory where the pst file was stored which would look something like this:
C:\Users\Whatever your user name is\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst

I just cut and pasted the pst file into that folder and replaced the old file and bingo…I had all my contacts and folders. I then plugged in my new phone was able to retrieve all my addresses…by the way, Vista uses Windows Mobile Device not Active Sync…it’s the Vista version of Active Sync.

I then installed Mozilla Thunderbird on my machine and imported the Outlook contacts into there, then deleted the trial version of Outlook…I don’t know why it says it was deleted though, because the crap is still on my machine…that’ll be my next task.

Oh, I had to download a trial version of Office 2007 because I got tired of looking for an separate download…it’ll ask you if you just want to install or do a custom install…choose custom, then click each of the programs it wants to put on your machine and choose “Not Available”, unless you want them installed, leave Outlook alone…after, just do what I’ve done and it should work.

Good Luck and if you have questions, leave a comment and I’ll try to help.

OpenOffice.org is Awesome!

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

I just installed OpenOffice on my new machine and it works awesome! For those of you that don’t know what Open Office is, it’s an open source Office software suite like Microsoft Office…and seeing how it’s Open Source, it’s free.

It’s compatible with the latest Microsoft Office versions of Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and all the others. The reason why I installed it was because my friggin laptop had a virus and I had to do a recovery using the recovery discs that came with it. I bought the laptop because it had XP Pro installed on it, but the recovery discs installed Vista!! You can get XP downgrade discs, as they called them, for free if you hate Vista.

Anyway, after having Vista installed I found out that you can’t import the .pst file from OutLook…I’m sure there’s a way, I just haven’t found it yet. The .pst file has all the contacts from Outlook, I was able to import my mail and folders from Outlook Express into the new Windows Mail though, which was a life saver.

Anyway, anyway…I remembered I had an old Office 2000 disc, so I installed that thinking it would take care of the problem….no, I was wrong…everything worked except Outlook! Then I remembered I had downloaded Open Office, I installed it and it works great…it’s compatible with the latest versions of Microsoft Office, as anyone who’s tried to open a new version of any MS Office programs in an older version…you can’t do it…that’s because the greedy pricks at Microsoft want you to buy their latest crap…and I do mean crap!

I’ll never use any Microsoft Office programs again!!

An URL or A URL

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

I’m not sure who started saying "an url" or why and what’s more puzzling are all the sheep who started saying it too.
Here’s a breakdown for all the simps out there who for some reason started saying "an url" even though it sounds wrong as they say it.

When pronouncing word that begins with a "U", if it’s a long "U", you use the word "a" in front of it….I think I just figured out why people say an instead of a…because they failed first grade English and they don’t know what a long U is…but I digress…a long U gets a in front and a short U gets an in front.

Take these words and say them in your head and choose which word should go in front:

  • Universe
  • Underwear
  • Underdog
  • Uniform
  • Ugandan
  • Unfortunate
  • Undermining
  • URL

Now here they are in a sentence:

  • In a Universe far, far away…
  • He was killed in an Underwear factory which was an Unfortunate tragedy.
  • He was rooting for an Underdog team.
  • It was an Undermining comment
  • He was a Ugandan man.
  • She loves men in a Uniform.
  • They needed a URL that was easy to remember.

Leave a comment if you think I’m wrong, but tell me why!

I guess you could say "U" is an "irregular" vowel because this rule doesn’t really apply to its siblings.

The letter "A": An Ape, An Apple
The Letter "E": An Ewok, An Elephant
The Letter "I": An Icicle, An Irregular verb
The Letter "O": An Ovary, An Ostrich
And the vowel at center stage:
The Letter "U": A Utopia, An Understanding

Do you get it now? This is basic English…it’s like not knowing the difference between these two monosyllabic words or when to use them: Then and Than!!

Then is used in reference to time:
"First we’ll write this, then hopefully people will understand the difference between the two."
Than is used in a comparison:
"I’d much rather use the word A in front of the acronym URL than the word An, because you sound like a moron when you don’t."

URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator for those who didn’t know.

That’s your English lesson for today!

Gas Station Ripoff

Monday, June 15th, 2009

Has anyone else noticed that gas stations are slowly raising the price of gas again?? Every day the stations in my area raise the price 2 cents…that seems so small, but everyday!!??

The gas station by my house is at $2.95 per gallon as of this morning (6-15-09), it’s being done slowly and systematically so nobody notices…but it’s happening…some are over $3 now. I’m not sure what we all can do about this except start taking mass transit, or write your congressman/woman.

Here’s a video I took when I was filling my tank up in Monterrey…I stopped at a Shell station and the damn pump already added a few fractions of a cent, and I didn’t even start pumping…this was taken in December 2007. this is small amount, but I’m sure Shell and all the others are doing the same thing all over the World, which probably adds up to millions of extra dollars for those scumbags.

We need to start using alternative energy, go to BruceDePalma.com and read about what this guy has done in that field that the government and oil companies don’t want you to know. This is really incredible!!

Damn my face was fat! hahaha

ATT SUCKS!!!

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

Update 8-12-09
So I get yet another call from Bay Area Credit about this bogus ATT bill that ATT is trying to stick me with…they supposedly were investigating the fraudulent bill that ATT is wrongfully charging me with.

The guy on the phone gives me two options: 1. I can pay the bill at a reduced rate, to which I said fuck that why would I pay a criminal to give me back something he stole from me…ATT SUCKS, THEY ARE A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION! 2. I can file yet another fraudulent claim.

Now I’ve already done this a couple times, but I guess they conveniently lose all the paperwork that I’ve filled out and the letters I’ve written stating why it’s fraudulent and why it’s impossible for the bill to be mine…Bay Area Credit doesn’t seem to be able to grasp the concept and on top of that was sticking up for ATT, the criminal organization at fault here.

I just got off the phone with the person that was supposedly handling the situation, it turns out she wasn’t and dropped the ball. She says it’s “identity theft”…here’s why that is COMPLETE HORSESHIT!!

Why would ANYONE steal my ID just so they can pay a friggin $200 phone bill…what’s more the phone bill is atached to my current address, so that means the person who lived here before, whom I’ve never met, would had to have gotten my social security number, my name ands everything else, just so they could stick me with their bill. When I told Mary Carr at Bay Area Credit Service, that ATT is just sticking me with the bill for a number I’ve never had, she said: “ATT wouldn’t do that.”, To which I replied: “It’s a corporation of course they would”. Then she got all huffy and said : “I’ll send a fraud packet out today, good day sir.” Now what the fuck is that all about. That kind of response makes me think they’re in cahoots with each other. ATT creates a bogus bill, sends it to a person, they don’t pay, then Bay Area Credit Service, gets the account and then try to collect.

A lot of people probably get tired of dealing with it and just pay.

IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS HAPPEN, PLEASE CONTACT ME! I’M GOING TO START A CLASS ACTION SUIT!!!

Original Post Starts Here:
Here’s another for my shitlist…unfortunately there are a lot of people and companies that are shitty!!
ATT SUCKS!!!
I moved into my current apartment about 3 and a half years ago, and when I did as anyone would normally do, I transferred my phone number to my new place…it was in the same town so the number would stay the same.

When I got moved in and plugged in my phone, it didn’t work, so I checked another jack…it didn’t work, I checked another and another (the place has a bunch of jacks), after checking them all and realizing that NONE OF THEM WORKED, I canceled my phone service and was using my cell phone.

Did I say ATT SUCKS? They do, ATT SUCKS HARD!!

About a month later I get a bill from ATT…I was like WTF!! not only was it a bill, but it was for a number I NEVER HAD. These motherfucking criminals at ATT tried and are still trying to collect a bill from a previous tenant, but they found out they didn’t live there anymore and just attached my name to it.

I ignored it and thought it was a mistake that would correct itself…but nooooo, the fuckers sent it to a collection agency and are screwing with my credit now!!

How the fuck can anyone think that they can just charge another person for a bill just because they live in the same apartment and for a number that was never mine.

If anyone else has had this problem, I urge you to contact me so we can put a huge class action suit together so we can put the screws to the CRIMINAL CORPORATION KNOWN AS ATT.

People are so concerned about two people in love that want to get married, but never make a peep about douche bags like ATT!!!

ATT SUCKS, they will absolutely never get my business…that won’t hurt them, but if everyone joins in and boycotts them, maybe we can take them down!!

UPdate: 7-23-09
More Reasons why ATT SUCKS and you should never buy or use any of their products!!

  1. They contributed the legal limit to the Bush/Cheney campaign twice. I wonder how much they contributed on the "down low"?
  2. The contributed to John McCains "Drill Baby Drill" – "Polar Bears Be Damned" – Why do you think they wanted tweedle dee and tweedle dumb to win!!???

If you care about the environment, you’ll dump ATT, because all they care about is their bottom line.
ATT is a CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION!!! Talk about organized crime…how can they just attach my name to a fucking phone number that I’ve never had and get away with that!!! To ATT I say, FUCK YOU!!! It’s not going to happen!! you’ve already fucked up my credit because you’re so friggin greedy, that you had to fraudulently put my name on somebody else’s bill, just because they didn’t pay and I moved into the same apartment…the bill was around $100…screw that! ATT needs to be brought down…class action suit in process…if ATT has tried to screw you too, send a message and we can join forces!!
ATT SUCKS!!!
